The Bathroom is finally Done!

Okay I know this isn’t a post about paintings but I wanted to share the some pictures of our remodelled bathroom. We (mostly all my boyfriend) have been working on it since May of this year. It was a struggle at times and very exhausting but WOW the results were fantastic. He got to shower in it this morning and didn’t have to hike ALL the way upstairs! 🙂

A Detailed house has been waiting to see the results so this is for you!

Okay so here are the before pictures

Here is the demolition

….Drumroll…The finished Bathroom!!

Over 3/4th of the bathroom is tiled! 🙂 It was amazing to see it all come together and watch how amazing Kris is at carpentry, tiling, electrician work, and all the other wonderful trades to learn when remodeling a bathroom. 🙂

All I can say is that if you think the project is to big…just roll up your sleeves and say BRING IT ON! 🙂 You can do it. google and you tube know a lot!

Happy creating everyone!

Beautiful Blogger Award

I would like to thank drew kail for nominating me for the Beautiful Blogger Award. I am thankful for all my followers and fellow bloggers. You guys are the best! Drew is a new blog that I have been following and I have to say that I love all of his work. He does an excellent presentation with his work. Thanks drew kail!

Following the rules of getting an award here are 7 things about myself. Lets see what I can dig up.

I love treats, cakes, cookies and any kind of dessert.

I am a sucker for a good lightning and thunderstorm. They make us see how small we really are.

I can still do a cart-wheel even at 30.

I love going for walks with my boyfriend, they are very therapeutic and rejuvenating for me.

I am scared of deep waters. Drowning is not a way I want to die.

Art is an escape and necessity in my life

I am not very graceful….tripping is a daily occurence for me, but doing so gracefully is an art 😉

“Playing in the Ocean” ~by Ellen

The majestic mysterious ocean…waves crashing down…soft sands caressing bare feet…salty mist surrounds your body…the horizon calls your name, beckoning to the hidden pirate deep within your soul…”There is a world of mysteries and undiscovered treasures for me out there” you whisper to yourself.  Reaching out you find yourself grasping for the sunset, yearning to capture each ray and press them into your chest, to forever absorb its glorious beauty.

“To reach the mysteries within ones soul, the beauty passions and desires, is to embrace that soul pressing it into your own giving it that soul the one thing it desires most….acceptance in the most complete form.”

~A Mask for the Ball~ by Ellen

A mystical ball awaits your arrival.

The ballroom is decked with fine silks and elegant flowers,

The walls are drapped with rich hand embroidered tapestries.

Every corner of the dance hall is covered with enchanted beauty.

Your prince awaits, may all your dreams come true.

I had fun with this piece and was trying my hand and paper mache for the first time in a long time. The medium that I choose was Acrylic. It was fun to see how the paints moved on the paper mache, and the canvas. To see a picture pop out of the canvas was fantastic.

If you are interested in this piece drop me a note 🙂

Embrace the world of art around you! And please share with me what you have created lately. I would love to see your talent put to paper, canvas or whatever your medium may be!

Happy Creating!

~Butterfly & Flower~

One of my recent doodles. I hadn’t drawn in a long time so I was playing with what I know best…chalk and pencil. It is the medium that feels the most natural in my hand, and also one that I can pick up and do at almost any time.  I love drawing, and find a great release of creativity when I have a pencil in my hand a blank piece of paper in front of me.

Happy creating!!

Local art Drawings

Abstract pencil drawing

Drawings Pencil

This was my first go at drawing on Canvas Paper. I have to say I loved the way the pencils moved and the textures that were created. Not my last one on this medium that’s for sure. 🙂

Let me know your thoughts! I welcome them all. I will be giving a go at Animated drawing as soon as I unpack my pencils.

Happy Creating everyone! May your pencils be sharp, your brushes full of paint and your paper and canvas be plentiful.

“Mountain Lake” by Kris

16 x 20 Original Oil Painting

This stunning Mountain and Lake Scene captures the beauty of North Idaho. Rivers both calm and wild flow through The Rocky Mountains, meeting peaceful lakes along the way. Towering pine, fir and cedars blanket the landscape whispering to all adventures hearts to come and play.

I am captivated each time I go for a hike in the woods, every time seeming like the first. The moss-covered logs, rocks and paths take me away to a time when I would spend hours imagining that there were faires living amongst the mossy trees, playing on the toadstool mushrooms and bathing in dew drops.

I will never grow old of my Idaho…..

Thank you so much for admiring our art!

Happy creating!!
